Admission Processes
At Daystar Schools, we are committed to admitting learners who are academically capable, well-behaved, and eager to excel in both academics and character. To ensure a smooth admission process, parents/guardians are expected to take note of the following requirements:
Obtain the admission form either from the school’s admission office or download online.
Completed forms must be returned with all required documents.
AGE REQUIREMENT
Reception/Kindergarten: 2 – 3 years
Nursery 1: 3 – 4 years
Nursery  2: 4 – 5 years
Primary 1: Minimum of 5 years by September of admission year
Junior Secondary (JSS1): Minimum of 10 years
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Parents/Guardians must submit the following:
Birth Certificate (original and photocopy)
2 recent passport photographs of the child
Previous academic records (report cards, transcripts, or transfer certificate if applicable)
Medical report/fitness certificate from a recognized hospital
Immunization record
All applicants (from Nursery 2 upwards) must sit for an Entrance Examination/Assessment Test appropriate to their level. Pupils will be tested in English, Mathematics, General Knowledge/Science. Nursery applicants will undergo an interactive assessment (oral test, recognition, and basic learning skills)
Successful candidates (and their parents) will be invited for a brief oral interview with the Head of School/Admission Committee. This ensures alignment with the school’s values, discipline, and academic expectations.
All fees must be paid into the school’s designated account(s) only. A copy of the payment teller/e-receipt must be submitted to the school bursary.Please note that no cash payments will be accepted in the school premises.
Parents are required to purchase approved school uniforms, textbooks, and other learning materials from the school. The list of approved items will be provided after admission is confirmed.
Both pupils and parents are expected to adhere strictly to the school’s code of conduct. Discipline, punctuality, neatness, and respect for rules are non-negotiable conditions of admission.
With these requirements, we ensure that every child admitted to Daystar school is prepared for excellence academically, morally, and socially.
